Perfect Museum for a day trip!!

I visited the NMAAHC on a beautiful day in July. We left Virginia around 10am an was able to get to the museum by 1pm. We parked at the Ronald Reagan building underground parking lot. The cost was $25. It was very easy to find a wheelchair accessible space and it was very close to the elevators. The lot was approximately 5 minutes away from the museum. The walk/ roll to the museum was easy and safe. Once I side the museum, we visited the information desk to get a map. We decided to start at the top floor. The elevators were spacious and easy to navigate. The exhibitions are plentiful. There is something to see everywhere you look. It can be overwhelming but just take your time and explore at your leisure. I didn’t have any problems maneuvering around the museum. The top three floors are accessible. I was not able to go to the bottom/basement floors where the slave exhibits are. The cafeteria is spacious and provides delicious food options. I didn’t get a chance to go to the gift shop because the line was out the door. Please allow at least 3-4 hours to see the whole museum. The architecture is beautiful and I found myself just mesmerized by it. It was a lot to see and I will definitely have to visit again to see everything. I really enjoyed myself and I can’t wait to go back.
